Application for Whidbey Island Garden Tour Grants
Whidbey Island Garden Tour grants funding to causes promoting conservation and stewardship of our shared habitat through environmental education, restoration and beautification.
Complete the online application form and submit by 5:00 pm PST, April 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed by the WIGT board. Awards will be announced in June, with funding available after our annual tour, July 18, 2026. The WIGT board may ask organizations for further clarification on their applications after the submittal deadline. Successful Grantees should expect to utilize grant funds within our 2026 grant cycle (July 2026 – June 2027)
2026 grant cycle funds will be presented to awarded organizations at WIGT’s Volunteer Appreciation event (scheduled for the evening of July 18, 2026). Awarded organizations should plan on attending with at least 1 (but not more than 2) representatives. Should your organization be awarded a grant, please notify WIGT of who (full name(s)) will attend the event at [email protected].
All projects must be approved by your organization’s board or administration prior to grant application submittal.
If your organization received an award in the prior granting period (2025), your reporting requirements must be current. If we have not received a 6-month report on the use of your awarded funds, your organization will not be eligible for our 2026 grant cycle.
If there are pictures, diagrams or other illustrations that augment your application (but do not take the place of the application), please submit them to [email protected].
Awarded organizations will be asked to report progress on their projects at six months, and at one-year, after receiving their grant.
Applicants are asked to please help us market the 2026 tour by sharing the WIGT website and social media links with your organization's membership.
The following are the grant categories for our 2026 grant cycle. The categories are not weighted; they all have equal opportunity of award. Grant applications might include one or more categories. The list is for assistance in writing your grant but is not all inclusive.
