Point of View
Point of View is 26 acres of pastures on the west side of Whidbey Island that looks across Puget Sound to the Kitsap Peninsula and Olympic Mountain range. It was a working farm with a 1910 farmhouse and a barn built in 1912 with 10 milking stanchions. In 1992, the current owners purchased the acreage and renovated the farmhouse and barn. They built their residence and created numerous gardens with wooded paths and cultivated lawns while planting more than 1000 trees and shrubs. There are seven areas of protected wetlands, a small forest of cedar and pine trees, gazebos, topiary, a pavilion, a covered bridge, a playground and many places to sit and enjoy the view. Accessibility Challenges: There is a long driveway approaching the garden only for walking. There is uneven ground and walkways in the garden. Please note this garden is not conducive to walkers, wheelchairs or any other mobility device. |
