When is the next tour?

Where is the garden tour and how do I get there?
The tour is located on Whidbey Island, which is just off the mainland coast of Washington state, about an hour’s drive north of Seattle. Ticket purchasers receive addresses for driving to each of the private gardens on the tour.
How do I get to Whidbey Island?
From the south, take I-5 to Highway 525 and head west to Mukilteo. Follow Highway 525 all the way down to the water’s edge and take the Washington State Ferries service to Whidbey Island (Mukilteo to Clinton route).
From the north, take I-5 to Burlington, then Highway 20 West. Follow Highway 20 across the Deception Pass Bridge to Whidbey Island and continue driving south.
From the Kitsap Peninsula, take the Washington State Ferries service to Whidbey Island from Port Townsend (reservations recommended) on the (Port Townsend to Coupeville) route and once you unload from the ferry, head south on Highway 20/525.
How long does the tour take to complete?
That depends on you. There are typically five gardens on the tour, and you can view them at your own pace and in the order you prefer. The gardens are open from 10 am to 4 pm, and the volunteers will not allow entry after 3:45 pm.
Do you show the same gardens every year?
There are different gardens on the tour every year. A few have been repeated over the years since gardens mature and change over time.
How do I get my tickets?
Online ticket sales are available now at 2025 date coming soon. You can also buy a ticket now from one of our on-island vendors starting May 1, 2025:Note: Children under 12 accompanied by an adult are admitted free and must not be allowed to wander unaccompanied.
Can I eat in the gardens?
Picnics are not allowed in the private gardens.

Are the gardens accessible for wheelchairs or baby strollers?
Some of the gardens may have sections that are wheelchair accessible, but for the most part they contain steps, paths of varying materials, and hills. Strollers are not allowed on the tour.
Where do I park?
Parking attendants at each garden will direct you. The gardens have limited parking, so carpooling is appreciated. At some gardens, you’ll need to park a distance from the entrance, but some close-in parking is usually available for those with physical disabilities.
What if it rains on the day of the garden tour?
The tour takes place regardless of weather. Please come prepared with good walking shoes and rain gear.
Are public restrooms available on the tour?
There are no restrooms available to the public at the private gardens, but public restrooms can be found at local grocery stores as well as at Bayview Corner, in Langley at the Visitor’s Center at 208 Anthes Avenue, in Freeland at the Freeland Park at 1535 E. Shoreview Drive, and in Greenbank at The Greenbank Farm located just off the highway at 765 Wonn Road.
Is photography allowed?
Yes. Photography is allowed, but please be considerate of other garden visitors.
May I take plant cuttings from these gardens?
No. Taking cuttings, flowers, or seedpods from these private gardens is not allowed.
Can I bring my pet?
No. Pets are not allowed on the garden tour.
