Volunteers are the heart of our organization. In fact, Whidbey Island Garden Tour (WIGT) is an ALL-volunteer organization. We would love to include YOU! Our mission is to provide financial grants to those who create and improve sustainable environments on our beautiful Island. Being a volunteer means investing in our community! Please consider joining us for Tour Day, July 18, 2026. All Volunteers receive two free entries for the Friday evening pre-Tour and one complimentary entry to the post-tour party for dinner and our annual grants presentation. Additional dinner entries may be purchased on a space-available basis.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Logistics Volunteers All positions filled for 2026
- Garden Helpers We need a couple greeters and docents for 2026
- Parking Directors (Parkers) Desperate help needed! are critical to the success of our tour! They get to have fun in the sun, play with walkie-talkies, and achieve their step goal for the day. Our islands rural environment presents several parking issues for garden visitors. Road signage directs visitors to the garden locations, but parkers are the ones who guide visitors to safe and efficient parking spots, allowing up to one thousand visitors to tour our featured gardens! Parkers are an essential, very important part of the Volunteer effort. Please consider volunteering to be a parker.
Day-of-Tour volunteer hours are from 9:30 am to 4:15 pm. In addition, all volunteers are requested to attend a brief orientation meeting in their assigned garden prior to the tour.
